FAQ
Absolutely! And if you want to help bring the Front Yard Tree Tradition to your street, please call or email us and we can help you get the word out!
Yes – we have two options:
You put a flag or something obvious marking the spot you want the tree before we come to deliver. You will get a reminder email that we’re coming.
You can purchase our Tree Placement Marking service, which will allow you to send a picture of the proposed location. A few weeks after purchase, you will receive a text message with instructions. We believe this will be a superior offering to selling flags like we did last year.
We sell only Fraser Firs grown in North Carolina, because they are the highest quality and hold needles longer than other types of trees.
The other type of trees you often see in people’s front yard are white pines, which can be grown in Alabama.
We believe the Fraser Fir is a far superior tree and have elected only to sell them.
Our front yard trees are all graded #1 or better. We have also elected to order extra trees this year, so we can personally remove any trees that were incorrectly graded higher than reality. We apologize if you received one of these trees last year.
All front yard trees are categorized as 5 to 6 feet tall, meaning that we can only guarantee that they are at least 5 feet tall. However, our average tree last year was approximately 5’9”.
No, unfortunately it would be cost prohibitive to include this service for the front yard trees.
If you wanted to purchase an inside tree and have it installed out front, please email us.
We drive two pieces of rebar into the ground and then zip tie the tree between them.
This has proven to be very stable, but also easy to remove after the season.
Yes – we offer many other products that are listed on our site that will be delivered at the same time as your tree. These include:
Garland
Wreathes
Christmas lights
Extension cords
Light timers
Garland and wreaths will be delivered at the time of your front yard tree. We are ordering our wreaths from a different vendor this year and have worked with our supplier on the best handling practices. Sun is the enemy of live greenery and should be in consideration of placement! Regular misting will be helpful for the longevity of the greenery.
We have elected not to offer this service, because we found there was no meaningful difference in the lifespan of the trees that had or did not have a water bowl.
The inside trees receive a fresh cut bottom that allows them to drink lots of water, while the front yard trees have a hardened off bottom that prevents any notable water intake, while also reducing water loss.
There are two options:
You can take the tree down yourself and take it to be disposed of or leave it on the street, assuming your garbage service will take them.
We offer a service to remove the lights and take the tree to be recycled. All lights and other decorations will be left on your front porch. This will happen the week after Christmas.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to accurately know what time they will be coming, beyond a specific date range. Our delivery routes are continuously changing during that period.
Our elves did a poor job of wearing their costumes last year, but that will be corrected this year. We hope that this makes it extra special for everyone!
Of course! We are hiring dependable people 16 and older, who don’t mind working hard. We plan to do our installations the week of Thanksgiving, so it’s a perfect job for a kid home from college.
If interested, please have them apply on our website HERE!
Unfortunately, we do not offer that service yet, but we are exploring it for next year.
However, if you are elderly or have some other condition that would prevent you from doing it yourself, please call us. We do not want anyone to miss out if we can help it!
Our orders open July 1 and close on October 15. Unfortunately, we are unable to take orders after this, but please include your name on a waiting list in the event we have extra.
We offer preliminary pricing on front yard trees through August, which will increase to $72 on September 1.
